Sterling, VA – By many accounts, the 2016 USSSA “C” Eastern Nationals in Sterling, Virginia were a great success. With plenty for teams to do off the field, a fun and engaging Opening Ceremony and national caliber facilities that took many inches of rain through the week and still played every scheduled game, the sentiment from teams in the event was very positive. Coach John from the Mount Laurel Storm (NJ) commented, “The event was organized and communicated extremely well. In advance of the tournament the communication was excellent. Checking in was quick and efficient. Our team did attend the opening ceremonies. The girls had a blast and the parents enjoyed the experience. There was a lot of cheering and many laughs were shared. These events created memories that will last a lifetime!”

For that quality in coordination and connecting USSSA teams with the Loudoun community, Visit Loudoun recently named the USSSA “C” Eastern Nationals the 2016 New Event of the Year. “As you can imagine, organizing events of this size and stature are a huge undertaking. It takes a lot of work, but more importantly, partnerships from our hosts at multiple levels to ensure that our teams get a great experience. We could not be more pleased with how 2016 turned out!” said Glen Warholic, Tournament Director.

Our partnerships with Loudoun County Recreation and Parks, One Loudoun, Brotman/Winter/Freid, Visit Loudoun and many others took this first year event (in Loudoun) to a very high level. With such strong buy in to the common goal of creating a fantastic experience for our teams, we can’t wait to see 2017 be even better!” said Andy Wisk, USSSA East Program Operations Director.

The 2017 USSSA “C” Eastern Nationals will take place in Sterling Virginia from July 26th to the 30th and is open to “C” classified USSSA teams. Details can be found at https://www.visitloudoun.org/sports/usssa-nationals/
