I originally posted this in the wrong forum so I am reposting.

If a player is currently on an "A" roster and an "B" roster at the same time, can she only play in open tournaments and not "B" tournaments?

Also if a player was on an "a" roster but quit that team and is now playing on a "b" team is that OK?

In Maryland & Delaware, we do not want players on rosters for more than one team at a time.  That said, if she is, it is usually due to the fact that she changed teams and the previous coach has not yet removed her from his roster.  If you have a specific example, please email us the information at staff@usssa1.com so that we can look into it further.

Players can and do change teams between divisions from time to time.  A team’s classification is determined by performance.  A “B” team that adds a player from an “A” team may continue to compete at the “B” level until such time that either the coach or the classification committee reclassifies them to “A”.  Keep in mind that usually not every player on an “A” team is “A” caliber and there are quite a few girls on “B” teams that could compete very well at “A”.  Classification is determined by the team’s body of work, not merely the addition of one player.

Can a player be on 2 different team rosters in 2 different age groups? e.g. 14UA, 16UB

In addition, players can and do change teams between divisions from time to time as long as they are roster/age eligible.  However, players get a one time transfer for the season. Players cannot go back and forth between teams.  The first tournament a player participates in, that’s the team she is locked too.  If she decides to switch teams, she will have to go through the player release process.
